Bluebells, views and maypole dancing - all part of Beating The Bounds

By Kevin Black in Local People

Westerham is looking forward to welcoming families, groups, friends and visitors to join the residents in checking the Parish boundaries are still in place on Monday May 1 from 8am!

Townsfolk and visitors can enjoy the bluebells, the spring countryside and views, then join the community for Maypole dancing by the children of then town’s Churchill CE Primary School, The Ravensbourne Morris Men, with pizzas from Federicci, and entertainment and refreshments on the Green in the afternoon.

Walking starts any time after 8am. The day is free to enjoy, although donations in the buckets in aid of the town’s hanging baskets will be gratefully received.

This year Westerham Scouts will stage a trail through the family section, and two walking groups will be led by locals.

Anyone can download the route cards from the website and follow the route of the old parish boundary at any time, but spring will truly be in the air and it will be a chance to invite friends and relatives to Westerham for a fabulous, fun day out!

For more details, route cards and maps please visit www.visitwesterham.org.uk.

The Westerham Society and Westerham Town Partnership hope you enjoy the walk, but cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage arising out of, or connected with the Beating of the Bounds event.
